Job Notice: Tree Ambassadors

Job notice received by the Branch.  We do not endorse an opportunity, were merely pass them along.

Tree Ambassadors is a pilot program to expand community action to plant, care for, and advocate for trees. Interns (any age) will receive modest stipend of $600 for engaging groups, organizations, or neighborhoods in getting and growing trees.

Expected outcomes from now to November 8 are for each intern to:

  • Characterize target community, either an organization you belong to, an interest sector (such as gardeners, interfaith groups, climate activists), or a neighborhood (or other area).
  • Reach community members to inform and advise about tree benefits and what it takes to grow a tree. Content, media resources and links will be provided.
  • Get and grow trees! Set and work toward goal for your target community to request trees, pick up and plant in front or back yard, or submit requests for a “free tree” from list of sources. Resources at https://katestrees.org/.

A letter of agreement will be signed, with “soft” targets. $300 will be paid when half of the tasks are done, and the final $300 upon completion.

Applications accepted until ten interns have been selected. Questions? Contact Anne Fege, afege@aol.com
