COVID-19 Testing in Southeastern San Diego

COVID-19 TESTING IN SOUTHEASTERN SAN DIEGO

With the closing of the Tubman Chavez Community Center, several churches in Southeastern San Diego are stepping up to provide COVID-19 testing sites. The following sites will provide no-appointment COVID-19 testing:

  • Bayview Baptist Church: Sundays and Mondays, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Encanto Southern Baptist Church: Monday – Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • City of Hope International Church: Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

County to Shift, Increase COVID Testing in Southeastern San Diego

The County is increasing its COVID-19 testing capabilities in Southeastern San Diego. With the closing of the Tubman Chavez Community Center, several local churches are stepping up to provide sites for COVID-19 testing in the area. The shift will ensure that the community will continue to have access to free testing.

About the SD Unified COVID-19 Student Vaccine Mandate

Under a vaccine mandate approved by the Board of Education, San Diego Unified will require students who are 16 and older as of November 1, 2021 and who wish to continue learning in-person to be fully vaccinated, effective January 24, 2022 at the start of the new semester/quarter.

October is Filipino American History Month. A local networking club is celebrating Filipino heritage and spreading awareness of COVID-19 treatments.

Members of The Lumpia Club gathered at Market on 8th in National City and the Director of the Filipino Resource Center, Joann Fields, coordinated the Thursday afternoon event. Dr Robinson, our Health Chair, spoke to the club about COVID-19.
