Gallery: Book Drive for People in County Jail

Thank you to our wonderful community members for their generous donations!  We collected more than 75 boxes and bags of books; the final count was 2,482!  They filled a large Sheriff’s Department van!  The donated books included both large and small print and on many topics, including history, science, education, spirituality, social issues, fiction and more!

We received donations from libraries, a book store, and people as far away as Oceanside.  Both the Branch and the Sheriff’s Department are excited to be able to provide so much education for the residents inside our jails!

Please also see a wonderful writeup in the Voice & Viewpoint!

We may do another one of these next year!
