Mourning one of our own-Wiley Lane III

Wiley Lane III
CHAIR, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
WHEREAS Mr. Wiley Lane III was a member in good standing of the NAACP San Diego Branch and served as Economic Development Committee Chair and as a member of the Executive Committee; he and his committee quickly developed aggressive goals that were limited by the COVID-19 pandemic;
WHEREAS Mr. Wiley Lane III and NAACP San Diego Branch Economic Development Committee participated in the Disparity Study conducted by the City of San Diego by providing insight into areas where our community is lacking in representation within the City of San Diego;
WHEREAS Mr. Wiley Lane III made invaluable contributions to strengthen the knowledge and importance of building wealth; in fact, he organized information booths on life insurance at a recent event of the NAACP San Diego Branch;
WHEREAS Mr. Wiley Lane III served in his role as Chair of the Economic Development Committee with devotion and vowed to continue the work of the NAACP San Diego Branch, help it grow, and “make our branch a place where we ensure our community’s voices are heard”;
WHEREAS Mr. Wiley Lane III demonstrated considerable honor when he resigned from the NAACP San Diego Branch Executive Committee as his health began to fail, preventing him from performing his duties in the way that he demanded of himself. NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED that the leaders and members of NAACP San Diego Branch will miss Wiley Lane III and his contributions to the community and branch; Further,
BE IT RESOLVED that NAACP San Diego Branch hopes and prays that Wiley Lane III rests in peace with his maker; Finally,
BE IT RESOLVED The NAACP San Diego Branch sends its love to the family of Wiley Lane III and hopes that his family can find comfort in their memories of him.
