Shonda Herold joined the development team at Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation in 2017. She is serving as project manager on two developments, representing $53 million of investment in affordable housing and over 132 new units. Ms. Herold’s responsibilities cover all stages of the development process from entitlements through final equity, including:
• Acquiring financing and budget development/oversight
• Securing land use entitlements
• Management of the design and engineering process
• Day-to-day management of project development
Prior to joining Wakeland, Ms. Herold worked for 15 years in municipal government in the areas of Historic Preservation, Urban Planning, Affordable Housing Development and Redevelopment/Economic Development. During her tenure, she cultivated multi-disciplinary partnerships that lead an increase of more than 200, quality, affordable housing options in the City of Riverside.
She earned a Bachelor’s in Historic Preservation and Architectural History from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.
