Sharvella Norris

Sharvella S. Norris, M.S.W. Masters of Social Work

Sharvella S. Norris, a San Diego Native, grew up in Southeast San Diego.  She became a member of the NAACP San Diego Branch in 2020.

In 2010 she graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis on Children Youth & Family/Child Welfare. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Brandman University. A member of the National Association of Social Work.

Sharvella has been a volunteer and advocate in her community for many years, in 1999 she founded the San Diego Golden Steppers Drill, Dance and Step Team. In 2005, Sharvella became a foster parent where she advocated for children who had been neglected, physically, and mentally abused. An advocate and a voice for young teen girls and women who have been sexually assaulted, suffered domestic violence, prevention, education, mental health, HIV/AIDS Awareness, career development, and case management which is still one of her passions.

Partner of City of Hope International Church in 2019, she accepted the Leadership position of Hospitality, Ushers and Greeters Ministry (H.U.G) Director and still serves in the capacity.
